James Dodds initially trained as a shipwright before studying painting at Chelsea and the Royal College of Art. His love of boats and the craftsmanship has continued and he expresses his passion for boats, boat building, shipyards, maritime history and the coast through painting, printmaking and publishing hand-printed books. He is now a well-established artist nationally and internationally. He enjoys regular 'one man' shows in Cork Street, London, exhibiting at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, and has also exhibited in Russia and New York along with Maritime Museums around the country. |
